This is a worksheet with twenty fill in exercises. The students have to complete the sentences with the right verb tense (past simple or present perfect). I always ask the students to underline the expressions that helped him to decide. The topic is holidays.

PAST SIMPLE OR PRESENT PERFECT?

This is a lesson plan I've made for my teacher training final exam.

The lesson plan is divided into two lessons. In the first one, students will be introduced to must and mustn’t. They will watch a video with which they will practise either classroom language and using must and mustn’t to talk about rules, and either write rules for their ideal teacher. In the second lesson, students will be introduced to have to and its negative and interrogative forms. They will listen to a track about foreign cultural habits and daily routines, and read the text related. They will then play a 20 questions game and write rules for a hotel. This last lesson will help students review vocabulary about tourism, and develop their intercultural awareness.

Please note there are no instructions with this template.  Students must choose an english speaking country and create a travel brochure complete with specific information about that country.  Good opportunity for students to learn about other english-speaking countries.  I usually give this to my students as a project to be completed at home over the course of a week, but you could give them a lesson to use computers and allow them to do research in class.  I will give this to my students after going through geographical features and describing cities.
