http://www.idodogtricks.com is a flash website with a cute little dog sitting patiently in front of a couch in a living room. You type in commands for the doggie, and if the dog knows how to do the task, you’ll see it run around, bark, roll over, etc. If you have a projector in the classroom, you can play fun games with it in ESL class. For example, one game could be to put students in teams, and let them call out a command for you to type in. If the dog responds to the given command, the team gets a point.
This is a great way to practice some basic action verbs. It’s good to know which commands the dog will obey, since you might want to give clues to your students if they get stuck. Please see the list below.
