Put the verbs into the gerund or infinitive in the first part and in the second part they have to make up sentences from the given words.

Gerund or infinitive

A gapfill exercise on infinitives and gerunds. Personally, I do not consider studying this kind of grammar very useful, it is far better to get a hunch for the right verb form by reading and listening to authentic texts in English. However, it is often part of various tests like FCE, where it serves as a means of finding out how well somebody knows the language. The verbs in this exercise are the same as those in "Gerunds and infinitives 3" so you can use it as a revision or as a test.

A classic 'Find Someone Who' ESL mingle activity but with gerunds and infinitives. This activity only uses seven verbs: love, want, enjoy, try, start, learn, and finish. A great ESL activity to complement lower level classes learning about gerunds and infinitives for the first time.

Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well
