This worksheet combines synonyms and antonyms. It gives ESL learners a chance to expand their already existing vocabulary. It is suitable for adult learners as well.

I used the first chapter of Harry potter and the sorcerers stone to make a bunch of different worksheets. There are grammar, vocabulary and text apprehension tasks.

Students practise their understanding of verbs by matching opposites and using them in a sentence. Key is provided.

Verbs: opposites with key

A set of 50 different dominoes (50 pairs of easy opposites) to print, laminate and play with.



In addition to the words there are small visual hints and also, all the dominoes have the number of spots which must match. (For example; the opposite pair of 'POOR/RICH' both have two spots.) This will help younger learners know if they have the right word match.



Although the English is at a basic level the game can be enjoyed at all levels.



There are many ways to use these cards with both small and large classes.

Opposites Card Game (24 cards)

The object of the game is to find the different opposites and become the first to fill his/hers playing board(s). For 2 to 4 players. 

Pages 2-5 are the playing boards. Cut them out and give one or more to each player. Pages 6-9 contain the playing cards which have to be cut out into 64 cards. If you want, laminate the cards.
