A worksheet to revise regular and irregular past simple and past participle through a fill-in-the-gaps activity of the song "Somewhere only we know" by the band Keane. In lower levels, I recommend using the cover version by Glee.

This act is a good way to teach Past Perfect since students have to ask each other about their previous day.

First I tell them that I had an awful weekend because many bad things had happened on Friday which made them ruined my weekend.

PRESENT PERFECT AND PAST SIMPLE

This is a reading comprehension about the film Back to the Future. There are a few comprehension questions and the last one I recommend to ask as homework, in order to elaborate an essay about the same theme as the film presents. The last question is related to the theme "if clauses", the second conditional. You may ask your students to follow that content.

It can be used for Pre-Intermediate and Intermediate students.

Read the information first, then answer the questions.

The student probably already knows the names and maybe where they are from.

Do they also know what they were and still are famous for?





Many difficult words - explain them! (copied from simple english wikipedia)

Make a timeline to show when they were born and when they had their biggest influence on the world.

Let them describe those people in their own words; in a few sentences so it fits into the box.



I chose many different "professions" and nationalities.



Maybe print both sided so the student can't just copy but has to remember the sentences for a while to write it down.
