It's an oral exercise. It can be used to work in pairs or individual. They can write it down or even say it. The purpose of doing this exercise  is to practice the past simple and present simple. Also it could be a bit more competitive if you give the studients some minutes to resolve it, and the first couple to guess everything, wins.
