This is a simple exercise. hand out 1 page to each student. (one or the other)

Give the students some time to think of excuses. 10 minutes should be enough. Tell them that they have to make excuses that their partner will believe. 



Have the students walk around the room or work in pairs, and ask and answer each others questions from the sheet. if the excuse is believable, they should say, OK... I believe you, if not, then they should say, I'm sorry... I just don't believe you.



there is an X and an O under each question. If the student receives the answer - I believe you, they circle the O. If not, they circle the X



The object of the game is to get as many circles as possible.



I have used this in low level and upper intermediate levels, and the students have always enjoyed it.
