Fun conversational-whole class role-play  activity appropriate for young-mature adults who have  experience dating.  I have used this as a pre-writing activity focusing on the use of restrictive and non-restrictive clauses.  Lesson plan attached.  



Speed Dating Activity

This pairwork activity is a combination of grammar and speaking practice, so never allow your students to start talking without checking all the gaps with you first. Be prepared that a possible trap here might be the relative 'where' which often gets muddled with 'which' or the other way round - be ready to explain it!  I guess you will also be someone to enjoy this conversation. Relatively. ;)

Directions and relative pronouns

This is doc 7 of the game "Don´t Say That Word!!" There are two more docs to the end of the whole set. In all(from doc1 to doc9) there are 240 cards. The instructions can be found in doc6. It´s an activity based on the famous game "Taboo". Students find it hilarious! Good to practise definitions, synonyms and antonyms. Maybe in some months I´ll include some more cards, but...by now, that´s it!!! Enjoy it!

Writing practice:  Students complete the clues and then guess the answers (which all begin with the letter G)



Speaking practice:  Students write a different letter in the middle and write words beginning with that letter in the outer circles.  They have to describe each word using relative clauses and their partner guesses what it is.
