Second Conditional

This is a second conditional practice with common phrases that will allow you to understand the structure of second conditional tense. It is a grammar sheet and you can send as an assignment if you are a teacher.

Students answer these questions about their thoughts. Conditionals type two. Later, students can interview their classmates in order to answer these conditinals.

Random ESL discussion questions for the practice of Would in Conditional 2 for imaginary scenarios. Students can be grouped in pairs or small groups to discuss the questions.

Conversation practice - would

This worksheet will help your students to practice second conditional structure by completing some hypotetical sentences. It also contains how second conditional is formed to remind students the correct structure.

Combination of exercises for both 1st and 2nd conditional. Additionally future time clauses and unless. Suitable for both younger and older students. I use it as a short test or revision exercises.

SECOND CONDITIONAL

This movie worksheet is useful for teachers who are discussing topics about brain functioning and for those who teach based on CLIL. Learners will have to pay close attention to the movie and its subtitles (this is needed for students who don't have a high language proficiency level). Ss will fill in with the right words the conversations. The next exercise features 7 comprehension questions. Learners can also make use of second conditional to answer some of the questions.

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets
