This is word search activity, designed to enhance the vocabulary about chess. 

You can set up a sort of competition about who finish first, giving awards. If the activity is becoming hard to do it, the teacher could give clues time to time, or the students can work in pairs.

This activity is only a complement, I suggest to use a demonstration board in class.
