A reading comprehension that describes the historic origins of Bonfire Night and how British people celebrate it today. The first paragraphs are centred on the Gunpowder plot and Guy Fawkes, whereas the last paragraphs are about the festival itself.
Through this text and its exercises students can adquire a better knowledge of the festival. They can also practice the Simple Past, improve their vocabulary and become familiar with more complex grammar structures.
