This activity begins with practice of when we use 'is' (for a fact or situation that is happening now or still true' and when we use 'was' (for a fact or situation in the past). This should follow an activity that goes over these rules with the class to explain this or clarify. They then practice these language points either through a gap fill or a free writing exercise for higher level learners. The sentences are all about famous people.

The above printable, downloadable handout is best suited for at Elementary (A1) and Intermediate (B1) level. It is a useful material for consolidating Present simple tense in English, and is useful for enhancing your class' Writing skills. It focuses on the vocabulary topic of Celebrities (stars, famous people).
