This worksheet helps the students distinguish between simple present and present continuous tenses by paying attention to the time expressions. all they need to do is to look at the time expressions and decide which tense do they need to use. This worksheet can be used as a controlled practice once these two tenses have been taught. The students should fill in the blanks according to the pictures.
for example
3. Alex and James (play soccer) at school every Monday. This Monday they (are playing basketball).

The above printable, downloadable handout is recommended for elementary school at Elementary (A1) level. It is great for consolidating Present simple vs continuous (progressive) tense in English, and can be used for working on your pupils' Writing skills. It is about the theme of Actions.
