To practice "Are there any...?" questions.
Students place their boats in the table, then take turns asking a combination of questions (from the row & columns).
EX:
Student A- Are there any pens in Jim's bag?
If Student B placed a boat in that square the answer is "Yes, there are." and if it is an empty square "No, there aren't."

This printable, downloadable handout is recommended for at Elementary (A1) level. It is valuable for revising Questions (interrogative) in English, and is useful for strengthening your class' Speaking skills. It focuses on the topic and words of Learning languages.

I am a recent BEd grad teaching in Japan as an ALT. I teach junior high/middle school students, but it is the first 3 years of their English education. I try to make speaking focused worksheets/games, as it is the skill that lacks the most in Japanese classrooms.
