Cloze Activity - Amerigo Vespucci

This is a fun extra cirricular activity for elementary to intermediate students (ages 7-16).  It focuses on listening and writing. There is an attached answer sheet in case you do not know the song. 



The way I teach this sheet is to have the student watch the music video, if available, or listen to the music without the worksheet.  Familiarize them with the song. Then, give them the worksheet.  Make sure they understand the instructions at each section, then assign as homework or do in class.

I make use of a similar worksheet as a writing prompt for creative writing.  Inhibited writer feel more comfortable when exposed to ideas.  I start with exposing it to my students as a reading sheet.  We brain storm sentences by using the word bank and then they may work in pairs in order to make up a Santa Story.
