This worksheet is about how to speak about time in a proper way. It is useful for elementary as well as the intermediate group.  Students have to look at the clocks and match the time as written there. 

Speaking time

A very versatile and extremely popular game with my students.  Students practise speaking and other skills while having fun. This game allows you to assign some tasks for students to do before they take the cards and can be adapted to any level.



Some suggestions:

- practising numbers and calculations

- making sentences including the numbers/figures on the cards

- telling a story with as many sentences as the final result of adding the numbers on taken cards



Extra tip! - You can set the grammar tense to practise in those sentences or any other grammar or vocabulary topic you want to review, e.g. make 7 short sentences with a different preposition of place in each or tell us what a King does/shouldn't do/used to do or tell us 5 clothing items for women or 10 farm animals. The possibilities are endless!

Approach your students to poetry with this poem taken from the book, Alegrías: poems for children by the Spanish author Marina Romero. It provides some vocabulary about animals and places around the world.

I made these images to use with the Lonesome Polar Bear book by Jane Cabrera.  Read book then ask students to cut and paste images in correct order, per story sequence. Appropriate for ESL beginners in K. Differentiate by asking advanced students to write names of animals or other relevant details. Use word bank on board or add one.
