The present continuous
This is the 2nd worksheet about the Taylor Family. Worksheet #1 is about the present simple. Worksheet #2 is about the present continuous. 

Introduction
Look at the illustration and familiarize yourself with the members of the Taylor family. They are a typical family who live in England. John and Sue are the parents of Emily and Peter. They live with their dog Barney. In this illustration you are introduced to grandma and grandpa.

Task 1: Can you describe what you see in each picture?

Task 2: Using the present continuous, can you talk about the present activities that the 
             members of the family are doing today.

Task 3: If you have a partner you can make questions in the present continuous, for example,
             A: 'Is John driving his car?'      B: Yes, he is. / No, he isn't.
             A: What is John doing today? B: He is mowing the lawn / cutting the grass / gardening.

The Taylor Family - present continuous

This task will be helpful and useful for teachers who work with present perfect and past simple, need to teach their students to use this tenses, tell about events in the past and make sentences correctly.

This worksheet is a great resource for teaching young learners. It is based on exciting cartoons "simon`s cat". The task is to look at the picture and make the sentences, using there is / there are.

ESL learners from 1st to 3rd grade of Primary Education can practice gradual writing skills and acquisition of grammar, sentence structure and vocabulary through this exercise. 



In this particular case, it is focused on adjectives about physical appearance and personality, but it could be done with any grammar point.

This worksheet is about how to speak about time in a proper way. It is useful for elementary as well as the intermediate group.  Students have to look at the clocks and match the time as written there. 

Speaking time

 This is a motivating activity for really elementary students who have studied the colours. They listen to two excerpts from the song Colours by Donovan and California Dreaming by The Mamas and the Papas. Fill in gaps with colours and then with other easy to identify words. Then of course, time for singing!

This worksheet is based on the song "Iridescent" by Linkin Park. Students should listen to the song and analyze it it to answer the questins. Moreover, there is a tast that is connected with wordformatiom.

A very versatile and extremely popular game with my students.  Students practise speaking and other skills while having fun. This game allows you to assign some tasks for students to do before they take the cards and can be adapted to any level.



Some suggestions:

- practising numbers and calculations

- making sentences including the numbers/figures on the cards

- telling a story with as many sentences as the final result of adding the numbers on taken cards



Extra tip! - You can set the grammar tense to practise in those sentences or any other grammar or vocabulary topic you want to review, e.g. make 7 short sentences with a different preposition of place in each or tell us what a King does/shouldn't do/used to do or tell us 5 clothing items for women or 10 farm animals. The possibilities are endless!

The card game SNAP - with a twist - for any level
