This task will be very useful and helpful for teachers who work with grammar topic "Past Simple Tense" and need tasks for practising writing and speaking about past events, making and using Past Simple.

Exercise "Past Simple"

Ask the students to cut out the nets to from three dice. This can be done in advanced depending on time.


This activity is looking at simple sentence structure - Who? (Subject), Doing? (Verb), What? (Object). Role the each of the dice to get a nonsense sentence, each student writes the words on sentence coloured strips, monitor, keeping an eye on spelling and handwriting. This step can be skipped from students who do not need to word on handwriting.


The next step is to write the three sentences on the worksheet.


This exercise helps to familiarise students with simple sentence structure.

This is an ESL worksheet for Second Grade JHS students. They are taught how to make polite requests. They practice with classmates after which they make their original skits and present to the class.
