On task/ refocus strategy

Choose a topic ( like Summer vacation) and write on whiteboard. Divide students in groups and have them brainstorm to find words related to that subject and write on paper or whiteboards. Then one team reads their words. If any other team has the same word all teams must erase that word from their list. Teams keep words that are original only to them and no other team has written the same. THey get points for each original word and whoever has the most points is the winner.

Give your students time to work through the vocabulary. Encourage pair work and help with difficult words. Students can use a dictionary to find the meaning of some of the difficult words in the tables and this can prepare them for the final task. Once the students have studied the tables, they should work in pairs and describe the photo.

A picture is worth a thousand words - 11

This is a song worksheet to practice the conditionals in English. Students are handed a song that explores some social and behavioral issues. The exercise consists of pictograms, lyrics ordering, gap filling and matching, and is a good one for students who like to be challenged to sing and talk about the song idea.

As we delve into the theme of professional life, it is important to highlight the idea of skills, discuss their different types, and incent students to work on and develop their skills, and why not acquire new ones. We conclude the lesson with an Elevator Pitch activity that can be graded.

Skills

Editable cards which are filled out by students or teachers and used in conversations. Print out or let the students fill out the cards and then act out the conversation. In big groups, the cards can also be prepared by the teacher. Students will pick up the cards with which must include task to find certain personn, for example: find someone who like cookies, the one who like cookies needs to find someone whose surname is Timson, and Timson needs to find you using a question that only they know. The firs trio to find eachother wins.
