Students start from a simple sentence and add adjectives, adverbs, relative clauses, participles, infinitive clauses and try to expand the sentence as much as possible.

It is known that planners and trackers help us to keep our goals in mind and study  more consciously. I've found out that such planner is very useful for my students. Hopefully you will find it useful too.

Monthly planner

Divide students into pairs. Give student  A a blue card and student B a red card. 

They have to ask questions about their pictures with the given words. Then, they exchange their sheets and answer their partner’s questions.

HISTORY OF MESOPOTAMIA

Students listen to the song "Nothing's Gonna Atop Us Now" by the band Starship. There are six missing words from the lyrics. Students choose the correct word from the word bank as they listen to the song. This song is from Starship's 1987 album, No Protection.

A short reading and comprehension exercise. I\'ve combined them in one worksheet but I usually just send the story to the student and after they\'ve read it ask them the questions to improve their listening. Then ask the to read it again to improve their pronunciation.

Beetle Facts 

Adult beetles have two sets of wings.

Female beetles usually lay dozens or hundreds of eggs.

Most beetles only live for a year.

Beetles cannot see very well, so they communicate using pheromones, sounds or vibrations.

A pheromone is a chemical that sends signals to others of the same species or colony. For example, female insects can release pheromones to attract males for mating. Males may release pheromones that alert others of possible danger or to food.

Some beetles are not considered pests. "Ladybugs" are beetles and are considered to be good luck in many cultures. "Fireflies" and "Lightning bugs" are also beetles. They glow in the dark to communicate.
