The worksheet aimed to develop vocabulary and reading skills. The students are to be careful not to confuse shades of words' meanings. They also learn to work out contextual shades of meanings of the words. Doing postreading task, they should keep in mind that their answers should be based only on the text itself but not on their knowledge or built-on-intuition suggestions

I use this video and worksheet to introduce the topic of Thanksgiving . The link and flashcode are provided. These are simple activities before studying the history of thanksgiving and some of its traditions more thoroughly.

Thanksgiving rap

The objective of this worksheet is to improve the students'listening skills by having them complete the lyrics of this song. The video is available to help them accomplish this task. It is a fun activity and a trigger to introduce what a legend is. The task is completing the missing words in the lyrics. The solution is in the second page: all the keys are there. Best practice tips? give students the lyrics, read it all together out loud, try to elicit the gist of the song from students, listen one time, then play it again to complete the lyrics.

There are two sheets to my reading, scanning and comprehension exercise. The exercise includes speaking, listening and comprehension.



1.	An article for the student to read.

2.	A question sheet for you to read to the student.



I suggest you copy and paste into two different documents.

Send or give the article to the student to read aloud to you. Then ask the student questions from the question sheet, they’re in the same order as the article. Most of the answers are one or two words; just be aware that some students will read a whole paragraph knowing that the answer is somewhere in it. For me, that’s not good enough! 



Finally ask the student to read the article again and while you correct their pronunciation, as necessary.  



What Brits Eat Part 2

This worksheet is related to the 6th part of Fast and Furious. Students can share their impressions about the movie and it's plot, learn new vocabulary and work on a short video excerpt from the movie.

Question tags are often used in spoken English. A rising intonation is used to show that the question is real and you expect an answer, whereas a falling intonation shows that the speaker just wants confirmation from the person being spoken to.

This quick pairwork activity will allow your students to talk about some of the practical skills they possess and their general preferences for studying. I use this one each time the subject of education / science shows up on the horizon. Simple but fun. Enjoy!
