Transport Number Matching Worksheet

Simple but challenging game to practice second conditional.

Put the students in groups of 3/4, print off and cut up one set of picture cards per group.

Students place the cards face down in a pile. When ready, the first student turns over a card and the students race to make a second conditional sentence using the pictures that they see. This can either be each student giving one answer, students coming up with an answer together, or as a competition where the first person to come up with a correct sentence gets one point.

Encourage them to use their imagination. They may ask you to judge if their sentences are correct.

Second Conditional Cards

Guessing game with clues. 

Can be used in different ways: 

1) Teacher reads descriptions, learners write the answers then check at the end. ,br>
2) Learners take turns to read, others compete to guess the answers. 

3) Learners work in pairs and take turns to read and to guess.
For 2 and 3 the clues need to be cut up in advance.

Teacher divides the students into a's and b's and gives each a photo accordingly. Students then work in pairs and describe the photo, students must not show the photo to their partners. The worksheet contains some useful words and a tip to help students describe the photo.

 this song can be used as a warming up activity or even as a relaxing activity   at the end of the lesson .it can be used  with both pre-intermediate and upper intermediate students and they will have to do simple activities like : filling  in the gaps ,putting  the lines in order or choosing the correct word.Songs usually provide an interesting material to be used in the classroom as students are usually familiar with them and they enjoy listening to them .

I have not provided a solution to the lyrics as they can be easilly found on the internet.

My students love listening to songs better than doing listening drills which are usually more boring and more difficult to understand.
