This is a listening/fill in the blanks activity for the Radiohead song No Surprises.  This song has a slow tempo, but the meaning of the lyrics is a little difficult.

Group students in pairs, trios or groups of four by using these cartoon characters. You can laminate the cards, cut them out, shuffle, distribute randomly. and then, ask them to find their pair/trio/group, by finding the characters who belong together.

In this exercise students are expected to fill in the blanks in conditional sentences. They are going to practise 1st, 2nd, 3rd and mixed conditionals. There are no keys to this exercise. The teacher can assign if as  homework or it can be good revision before an exam.

There is a picture and vocab match to prepare Ss for some of the language used. Next they read the quotes on the other side of the page and then listen and order them as they do. The second time they listen they need to say which topic each quote is related to and finally they fill in the blanks. 



Then they should be encourage to use some of the language from the video and discuss the topics themselves in pairs.
