A selection of English ESL i like printables

This is a grammar drill activity (with the past simple) that can be played with your students. You can divide the class in two groups or more and for each correct sentence (question or answer) the teams score points. The objective of the activity is to make students understand and practice the two types of questions: yes/no and information/wh questions.

If a student picks up an answer, he/she must give the question and vice versa.

Gap fill activities to practice present simple grammar with common verbs like, want. live and play.  Learners have to decide whether they need the 3rd person form with the 's' or not.

Present simple grammar for beginners

Revolving around Sports, this set of Taboo Cards requires pupils to work in groups of 3 or more. Naturally, mimes and gestures are not allowed as communicative 'props' as pupils describe the sitcom on their card. A teacher may optionally join the group with a copy of the game to help, should communicative problems arise as a result of restricted lexical options. In that regard, the cards are numbered to facilitate communication between the teacher and the student. As always, the worksheet is fully editable.

A speaking marathon with two sets of 30 questions on a variety of issues. Good for any stand-in lesson or a 'freestyle' discussion class since as you see it's a whole bag of unrelated topics. You can also select whatever's relevant and just relish a lively conversation.

This is a hip-hop song to practise wishes with upper- intermediate students. It's fast and the chorus is catchy, so my students really like it. Students have to listen and fill in the gaps. I hope you like it, too! :)

I've just realized I forgot to upload here this worksheet I made last summer!! Another summer song, this time from Jonas Brothers. It should be familiar to Disney´s "Jonas L.A." fans. There are several exercises: fill the gaps with antonyms, complete the missing vowels, fill the gaps with the words you hear, choose the right word, put the worda in order and find and correct the mistakes.
