This is a review vocabulary test for the Oxford Series of Quest 3 There are 3 pages of exercises on the vocabulary  Unit 2. Page 4 lists the words. This practice may enable the student to perform better on the unit test.

It is a listening activity that can help students have fun and learn new vocabulary through a song. Besides, there is an activity in which they have to understand the meaning of some words by reading the context in which they are.

Hi there! this worksheet engages with the present continuous.

The worksheet includes two activities. those activities aim to the 7th grade (of Hebrew speakers) and this is probably won't be an issue if you are a native speaker of the English language. 

Present Continuous

This is a holistic worksheet that incorporates the days of the week, the weather as well as making full sentences. Great for revisions or exams. This can also be a great introduction to other concepts of time such as last/this/next week.

This worksheet is for adults and high school, level B1 students. The students read the text and answer true or false  questions. There are also open questions that students have to answer. The text should also introduce a debate about the subject.

Stalker crocodile becomes feast

A paper version of the old boardgame. Using vocabulary!



Each student gets 2 pages, exactly the same. I usually staple them together. The front page will be used to take notes later.



On the second page the students draw 5 ships.



Air Craft Carrier (5 squares)

Battleship (4 squares)

Cruiser (3 squares)

Submarine (2 squares)

Patrol Boat (2 squares)



They can draw them where-ever they like vertically or horizontally. They CANNOT draw them diagonally or overlapping. Remind them to keep it a secret.



Once they finish drawing they should cover their paper. 



They will make pairs and play rock-paper-scissors. The loser/winner asks first.



They guess the location of their partner's ship by making a sentence. i.e. what is the weather forecast for tomorrow in Abashiri (or whatever place name you want to use.) 



Their partner will check their second page. If there is a ship they say 'hit' and the partner who asked will draw a circle on their memo paper. If there is no ship, they say 'miss' and the person who asked will draw an X on their memo paper.



Once all the squares of a ship are hit the student must say 'sunk'



The goal is to sink all 5 of their partner's ships.

Weather Forecast Battleship

Everyone wants to eat delicious food and enjoy the taste of life. Apart of enjoying the food, individual forgot to focus on the quality of meal. There are multiple differences between healthy and unhealthy foods through which you can easily decide what to choose for eating.



Healthy Foods. 

It is referred as the food which is beneficial for health in terms of nutrition and it also fits your body. Healthy food may be considered as organic food (pure from chemicals), whole foods and natural food etc.



Unhealthy Foods.

The best way to describe the unhealthy food is the less nutritional food containing high amount of calories, fat and sugar. This type of food is high in protein although body needs protein but in a particular amount.



Healthy Food vs. Unhealthy Food



Examples of Foods: 

Healthy food is rich of energy such as fresh fruits and vegetables, leafy greens, raw nuts, sprout, yogurt and honey etc. While unhealthy food are white bread, pastas, hot-dogs, chicken roast,chips, chocolate etc



Health Effects: 

By consuming healthy foods fatigue, depression, headache, joint pains, lungs problem could be resolved while unhealthy food welcomes the cardio vascular diseases (CVD), obesity, diabetes and also other chronic diseases.

Healthy & Unhealthy Food

There are three tasks to carry out. A drawing dictation, a game of pictionary and finally an elimination discussion about which three people should be saved from a volcano.
Start the class by eliciting natural disasters. Then, play a suitable video from ISL collective. Then, hand out paper. 

DISASTER DRAWING DICTATION. The teacher reads the paragraph out loud as the students draw. They could write their own descriptions of other disasters for each other to draw as homework. Vote whose picture is best.
DISASTER PICTIONARY. Cut up the list of disaster words and have the kids form into two teams. The first person to shout out the disaster in English gets a point. 
DISASTER DEBATE. Cut up the list of people and hand them round. If necessary invent more (or ask a friendly AI). A volcano is erupting nearby. A helicopter can only take three people. 1. Each person introduces themselves and explains why they should be saved. 2. A discussion ensues. 3. Everyone writes on a slip of paper one person to be evicted. If there is a tie, vote again. If there is a stalemate, they are both eliminated. 4. Further discussion. 5. Vote again etc. until there are only three people left.

NATURAL DISASTERS FUN LESSON PLAN

This activity is composed with a text about JK Rowling (short biography),  there are questions about the text (right or wrong + justification by quoting the text), grammar exercises (regular & irregular verbs of the text, sorting out the regular verbs according to the prononciation of "ed" ending, 2 exercises about the simple past (affrimative and negative forms) and a translation of a short part of the text in your mother language.

The use of a dictionnary is accepted in my case but you might chose not to use it. Everything isn't centered on JKRowling but I hope these activities will be useful !
