All the tasks are devided into: before, while and after reading. 

The first part represents matching animals with the sounds that they produce. 

P.S. before using this worksheet compare it with your story "The Gingerbread Man", there can be some differences. 

The Gingerbread Man

It's a funny winter short story I wrote for my pupils.It's useful to revise present simple, body parts and general Language. For older students you can add other activities, for example rewrite it using the past, or add more questions. I hope you like it!

Activity for practising past simple tense (regular and irregular verbs). It is a famous story about Gingerbread man, so the activity can be used around Christmas, but it is not necessary. There are two versions - the easier one has the verbs in brackets immediately next to the gaps, the more difficult one has the verbs all together at the end of the text so students have to find the proper verbs for each sentence.

Everyone wants to eat delicious food and enjoy the taste of life. Apart of enjoying the food, individual forgot to focus on the quality of meal. There are multiple differences between healthy and unhealthy foods through which you can easily decide what to choose for eating.



Healthy Foods. 

It is referred as the food which is beneficial for health in terms of nutrition and it also fits your body. Healthy food may be considered as organic food (pure from chemicals), whole foods and natural food etc.



Unhealthy Foods.

The best way to describe the unhealthy food is the less nutritional food containing high amount of calories, fat and sugar. This type of food is high in protein although body needs protein but in a particular amount.



Healthy Food vs. Unhealthy Food



Examples of Foods: 

Healthy food is rich of energy such as fresh fruits and vegetables, leafy greens, raw nuts, sprout, yogurt and honey etc. While unhealthy food are white bread, pastas, hot-dogs, chicken roast,chips, chocolate etc



Health Effects: 

By consuming healthy foods fatigue, depression, headache, joint pains, lungs problem could be resolved while unhealthy food welcomes the cardio vascular diseases (CVD), obesity, diabetes and also other chronic diseases.

To play Foods Go Fish print out two sets of the cards per group of 4 to 6 students, ideally on card stock. Deal out four cards to each player and place the remaining cards in a pile. Each player then tries to get pairs by asking any player they choose, for example "Would you like some bread?" If the player has the card they must reply, "Yes, please!" and hand it over. If they do not they must reply "No, thank you – go Fish!" Pairs are placed in front of the player and the player who gets rid of all their cards first wins. Pets and more

It's an easy version of a play script based on a very well known fairy tale "The Gingerbread Man" that can be used with EFL / ESL students during the Christmas time. 



The script is best suited for young learners, 6-8 year olds, but you might want to make some changes to it to make it more challenging and suitable for older students, too.



You can also add some background music, animal/nature sounds or songs and nursery rhymes to make it even more attractive.



I used it with my 2nd graders (year 3 in the UK) and it turned out to be a great success, all the parents and other students enjoyed watching it:-)
