Students will have to practice the uses of make and do. In this ESL printable students of English as a second language have to do a simple gapfill to help them master these collocations.

Make or do collocations

Pairs Game - Business Collocations. 



Cut out the cards. Lay them face down on the table. Then the learners take turns turning over two cards at a time in order to locate collocating pairs. If successful, they take the pair they found and have another turn. 



An alternative for individual learners is to lay the cards out face up and challenge the learner to simply match the expressions.

COMMON COLLOCATIONS WITH HAVE

This activity is aimed to enlarge students’ vocabulary and to improve their ability to implement this vocabulary in speech, through picture descriptions and making a story. According to Nakatani (2010), picture description engages students to memorize vocabulary in long-term memory. Moreover, describing pictures facilitates learners’ fluency because visual items help learners to produce speech using their background knowledge.

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets
