The board game "There is & there are" gives the choice between the phrases at the beginning of a sentence and it is determined by the noun that follows it. Use there is when the noun is singular (“There is a car”). Use there are when the noun is plural (“There are two skeletons”).

Students find the words on health and body parts: lungs, kidney, bones, skeleton, skull, cancer, prevent, disease. The words are on horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines

The human skeletal system consists of all of the bones, cartilage, tendons, and ligaments in the body. Altogether, the skeleton makes up about 20 percent of a person’s body weight.

An adult’s skeleton contains 206 bones. Children’s skeletons actually contain more bones because some of them, including those of the skull, fuse together as they grow up.

A very simple game to practice present perfect, especially with “just”.

Put students into groups of 4 and hand out one set up cut up cards per group (or have one student per group scan the QR code). They place the pile in the middle of the table and turn over one card at a time. The first student to make a correct present perfect sentence about the card, keeps the card/gets one point. The student with the most cards/points at the end is the winner. 

Example: One student turns over the picture of the cat and the fish skeleton:

The first to shout something like "The cat has just eaten the fish", gets one point.

For a longer and more challenging version. Each student in the group must make a sentence about the card:

"The cat has just eaten the fish"
"The cat has been naughty"
"The fish has just died."

Do you really want to hit print? This is also a QR code activity, so you could save yourself the time and paper and have them do it on their smartphones.

I am happy to share this worksheet of 6 Halloween riddles. They are rather simple but I will use it with my 3-6th graders (Elementary and Pre-Intermediate levels) after the revision of Halloween vocabulary. I like your comments. If you like it, let me know.
