Here's a scary ghost story aimed at teenagers at pre-intermediate and intermediate levels. Students read the story, answer some comprehension questions and imagine and write the ending. Then, they read the true ending, compare it to theirs and answer some more comprehension questions. Finally, there are some discussion questions for students to focus on speaking. This story is written using past narrative tenses (Past Simple, Past Continuous and Past Perfect Simple), so you can use this story to passively introduce these tenses, to provide your students with further and richer exposure to these tenses or simply to practise them. Taylor Swift's song All Too Well is the perfect video and song to use for improving all the skills. Task suitable at B1 level. Improve listening and writing but also reading and some questions can be answered orally. Watch the music video while answering the questions.

This resource strengthens skills with irregular verbs and planning a speech. The lesson begins with a listening activity and model for the finished speech. Then, it leads into prompts for the speech. The assignment ends with a rubric for teacher and/or student evaluation.

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well
