Students work in pairs, take turns and debate on the given statements. They must contradict each other, one of them agrees the other disagrees. They express their opinions by giving arguments for or against the statement.

Debate time - TELEVISION

The series "For or Against" is intended to stimulate discussion for advanced students. Before the teacher gives the students the worksheet, they should make a list together on the board. Then they can discuss in pairs, or in small groups, the statements of the worksheet. There is always a page that brings vocabulary to discuss and argue.

This reading comprehension is meant for adults and teens in intermediate level.  They should read the text and answer the questions. It can be a good start for a discussion about this kind of programs.
