This began as an exercise to illustrate different building styles around the world, and no one embodies the concept better than I.M. Pei.
This PPT highlights Pei's life in a traditional biographical form, including the highs, and a low point. It also highlights his projects and their influence on architecture and the modern landscape. Even if you've never heard of the man, you've seen his work. Either you've walked by his buildings or you've seen them in photos, on television, and in the movies.
This is a good starting point for a discussion on cities and buildings. It could be used for cause and effect, jobs, the value of practical training over theoretical education, or a lesson on passive vs active sentences.

The present downloadable teaching material is recommended for at Intermediate (B1) and Upper-intermediate (B2) level. It is a useful material for practising Passive voice or active voice, Past simple vs continuous tense, Personal pronouns, Prepositions of place and Present perfect tense: FOR or SINCE in English. It is about the topic and words of Ability, Art, City, Environment and Technology.
