I made this presentation for the first lesson after summer holidays. You may use it at the end of the school year like revision.


The game is based on HOT SPOT 2 (macmillan) threfore some listening tasks were taken from the book. But you may replace them with your own activities.

In this PPT students have to speak about a given topic for one minute.

Rules

Students have to choose a number and click on it. It will take them to a ”Talk for one minute about…” slide. Click on the arrow to start the minute timer. The student has to talk for one minute about that topic. When the time is over, click on the BACK square. It will take you back to slide 2. A new student can choose another number. There are 12 slides with 12 different topics.

A simple game for students to practise both objects in the living room and prepositions of place. First students listen, repeat and match the words they hear with the right pictures. Then there is a multiple choice task on where the objects are located.

IN THE LIVING ROOM - furniture + prepositions of place (a game)

Students need to read a description and match it to one of the 15 faces they can see.

After choosing the right picture, the teacher can ask students to further describe what they see or ask students questions, for example, "Has he got big eyes?"; "What colour is ...?" etc.

PETER'S FAMILY 2  PPT GAME

HOW TO PLAY - Divide the class into four teams. Taking turns they try to figure out each word by reading clues (each team can guess 5 words). Encourage students to make wild guesses - there is a solve button which can be pressed at any time to reveal the answer (but students should be sure first and encouraged to use more than one clue). The group scores according to how many clues they used. No points are awarded for wrong guesses.
