with acts of courage, humanity, integrity, innovation and imagination.
As was explained to the students in the introduction to this section, these individuals are not perfect. They are real people, not two-dimensional creations. Their lives and their actions had a postive effect on the lives of others.
This is not a grammar based lesson. The hope is that it will spark a connection in the students, encouraging individual comments, as well as pair and group discussions.
You could certainly use this as an introduction to biographies, passive sentences, past tense or perhaps a exercise on family trees.
