WEATHER FORECASTING

Talk to students about things they do and wear in specific weather, practice the weather forecast. It's an adaptation from an original work posted here. That's why it carries the name of the previous creator and no mine.

All about weather and the clothes that are go with different kinds of weather.  This lesson contains lots of images of clothing and weather in addition to discussion questions.

Use this material to provide some extra conversation among your students. It is also useful for a revision regarding First Conditional. The material brings idiomatic expressions related to money.

Conversation About Environmental problems or money

Power Point presentation on the topic Extreme Weather Conditions with exercises, video and project activities. It has four sections: activating background knowledge, input, output, project. At the beginning students complete a drawing dictation. When they see the picture, they guess the aim of the lesson and try to predict the activities that they are going to perform during the lesson. After that they do some vocabulary work, create a recipe for a natural disaster...

Teaching and practicing weather vocabulary- talking about temperature, learning idioms related to weather, specifying the differences between the two temperature scales- Centigrade and Fahrenheit, practicing present simple and past simple, learning weather adjective formation.

A simple powerpoint diaporama to help students learn weather vocabulary and talk about the weather. Students can pause and repeat the powerpoint in order to practice.



The Weather

PPTx in order to learn vocabulary related to the weather: adjectives (it's sunny, it's windy, ...), nouns (sun, wind, fog, ...) and verbs (the sun's shining, it's raining...). Some extra vocabulary has been added (rainbow, the weather forecast,...) and one nice idiom included! 22 slides. It's really visual and there are some revision slides as well. I hope you find it useful. I included some sounds in three slides (rain, wind, thunder) but I'm afraid I can't upload them.

The weather

The PowerPoint presentation shows your students some English weather idioms. The pictures illustrate the meaning of each phrase. The students also have a chance to practise the idioms filling the gaps with them. At the end of the ppt, they have to use the expressions while answering some questions about the weather.
