Funny game for Halloween or other days also. Separate  students on 2 teams - then one kid from each team speak out sentence or word, then choose the door to leave haunted house, the team who finds door first - wins.

This series of ppts is primarily meant to help English learners discover what Halloween is and to learn about some famous monsters (and how to kill them). So it is a cultural enrichment presentation that also allows a grammar review and introduces new vocabulary.

Understanding What Halloween Is & How To Kill Monsters

Read the simple questions carefully. Think of what is the appropriate words for the given picture and choose between a,b or c. Read and repeat the words together with the students.

Halloween vocabulary (quiz for elementary)

The students are given a task of guessing the meaning of some of the Halloween vocabulary (bonfire, bobbing the apples, prankster, mass, to trash, harvest season, Samhain, hallow, afterworld, frown on, to bring into the fold) and then listening to an audio and filling in the gaps in the text.

This is a lesson I made for an IELTS reading and vocabulary lesson with some A2/B1 high school students. The aim is to increase their lexicon through the use of reading materials. The students are currently choosing the topics that they wish to read about and I am making the stories using AI and online resources. In addition to this lesson, I also made quizzes on Google Sheets. There are some Wordwall activities on the slides.

Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
