The video describes Thanksgiving as a holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. The tradition began with the Pilgrims who arrived in America in 1620 aboard the Mayflower ship. After a harsh winter where half of the group died, they were helped by a Native American named Squanto, who taught them how to grow corn and hunt. The First Thanksgiving Dinner took place in November 1621 as a three-day celebration for the excellent harvest, bringing together the Pilgrims and about 90 Wampanoag Native Americans. Current traditions include the meal with roast turkey, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie, in addition to the famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.
