Students have to unscramble present continuous sentences that describe what Simon's cat is doing. Mostly these are short sentences, but some of them are longer containing up to 15 words. Two of the sentences are in the present simple passive voice (is curled up, is spread out).

Do you have a cat? If yes, does it ever scratch the sofa or any other piece of furniture?

Do you like to stretch yourself during the day?

Do you do yoga or have you ever tried it?

How popular is yoga in your town or country?

YOGA CLASS GAME: Put students in pair and tell them they are going to act out a yoga class. One of them will be the yoga instructor, the other is the yoga student. The instructor will hold a 5 minute yoga class, but may not show any of the moves, but can only instruct by speaking, by means of explaning how to do a move. After 5 minutes the partners switch roles.

Ask your students if they do yoga. Get them to show you some yoga moves.

Tell the class that they are going to see yoga moves as performed by Simon's cat.

It turns out that all this time, unwittingly, Simon's cat has been practising yoga.
