Today, we live in a global village where some languages have been adopted by multiple countries, and of them, English is spoken by about 1.35 billion people in the world. This is why we celebrate English language day. But, do you know why we celebrate it on the 23rd of April? English language day is celebrated on the birthday and death anniversary of the most famous English playwright, William Shakespeare. Shakespeare, also known as the Bard of Avon, invented many popular phrases in English that are used even today. So on his birthday, we celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of the third most spoken language in the world.
