This is a worksheet based on the story of Denis, the 'cat burglar'. On the first page there´s a relevant article from the BBC News followed by a True/False exercise and a vocabulary crossword. On the second page there´s a set of comprehension questions for the students to answer after they have watched the BBC video about Denis. Finally there´s a matching exercise on some cat idioms. Printer-friendly copy and Answer Key provided.

This worksheet is a pre-watching activity for "The confessions of an idiom"(a short animated film packed with idioms). Students read the sentences and choose the correct meaning of the idioms (bolded words).

My favourite youtube video!!! My pupils love it. It is made by Cool School. I created a two-page worksheet. There are six various exercises, focused on past simple tense and some idioms and phrases. You can also switch on the English subtitles or you don't have to use it, it depends on the level of your students. Enjoy it!!! :-)

Worksheet created to complement the video lesson by Misstylady. Can also be used alone (video link is provided). There are a few idioms intended as a warmer and a list of idioms from the video. Student first try to complete the gaps and then watch a fun video and check/fill in what they missed.

Listening: Confessions of an Idiom

This is a short video lesson that teaches some idioms and teaches listening skills. First, you read a short paragraph and learn some idioms that are used in the video. Then, after watching the video, you answer some questions. There is a a role play you can do at the end.
