This is an “English as a second language” short story for kindergarten students. Some of my little students like to read short stories, so I wrote this story for them. After I read the story to them, I explain the words that they might not be familiar with.  Then, I ask questions about the story.  Most of the time they ask me questions about it.

Their questions give me ideas about their interests and I base my next story on those interests.
