Warmer - this is a class exercise. Students must talk to each other student in the class and ask them the questions on the worksheet, writing down as much detail as possible. After the activity, open up class discussion with students telling the class what they have found out about their fellow students.

Find someone who

An activity for new classes in which the students don't know each other too well.

When every student has one card, all of them walk around the class and ask each other questions. They write the matching names on the card. The first one to have four in a row calls "bingo", and everybody sits down.

You can follow this up with questions like "What can you tell me about ..?"

I always enjoyed this activity but was frustrated when the students couldn't convert the statements into questions and would just read 'someone who likes cake?!' to which the other student would say 'yes'. This way they know what the question should be and then can provide the answers in the third person when you ask them what they found out. 

Find someone who is a speaking exercise for all language levels. Students can practice speaking by asking questions related to personal interests. It brings fun to the classroom!

Find someone else who is wearing an item of clothing, practice for speaking, asking questions about clothing

Simple icebreaker for a first class so your students can mingle, learn each other\'s names and practice speaking and asking questions. Depending on the size of your group, your students may want to write one name per question or the same name multiple times.  

Find Someone Who...

A well-known ice-breaker. Students have to mingle to get responses to the questions. If they can, they should form the question, eg 'Find someone who likes the colour blue: Do you like the colour blue?'

If they can't, you can give them the questions on the page.

Also, if they can they should ask a follow-up question like, 'What kind of blue do you like?' or 'What do you have that's blue?' and write the responses.

They should change partners after every question, so they all mingle. Afterwards they can read some responses to the class, which involves converting the question back to a statement.

In this ESL printable worksheet students have to ask their fellow classmates questions in order to fill the blanks. A good ice-breaker for a new class or new term!
