This is a picture/word association crossword puzzle based on The Little Mermaid Musical Play Book (Scene 3 primarily). The words are provided and students only have to understand what words go with which pictures, so it is pretty good for students still just learning how to read and don\'t necessary have words memorized.



I use this with students age 7-9. 



None of the images or words should be locked, it can be fully edited to change the pictures to something your students might prefer.

I let my student choose topic on their own for every class. She chose the topic of the little mermaid. There are many different versions of the fairy tale. I took the one from Walt Disney because of all the sister's names.

Little Mermaid is a timeless fairytale, so I'd recommend this exercise for both pre-A1 and A1 students.

Let the students hear it more than once. Some words are difficult for the beginner students, but that doesn't mean that they aren't able to learn them!
