The idea is to have the pupils work individually or preferably in pairs/groups and ask each other the questions. To find the answer, they have to read and understand the phonetically written answers.

There are ten jokes, but also ten pictures, have your pupils match the corresponding jokes and pictures.

Have fun with Annoying Orange and his annoying friends. Review all passive voice tenses. Write in the correct form and be careful! Don't forget a form of the verb to be.

Here are eleven short dialogues with a funny end. Most of them are to be played two by two, but some of them have three characters. You can give it to your student to train their pronunciation and bring some fun into the class. You can also ask them to memorise their dialogue to train their memory.

You can use this worksheet for speaking lesson and talt about humour and jokes. And you can learn some of the most famous idioms in English language. Have fun!

Maybe not for beginners. Have your students find the correct meaning of the spoonerisms. Afterwards they match each spoonerisms with the corresponding picture. Can they come up with similar spoonerisms of their own?

Let them work in pairs or groups, maybe finsh with a class discussion.

World Laughter Day is the 5th of May!

This is a great speaking activity to develop fluency and improve vocabulary when talking about humour. Students take turns choosing a question to ask another student in their group. The other student must answer the question and aim to speak for at least 1 minute to ensure they get lots of speaking practice. There’s also a follow-up homework activity.
