Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>

Couldn't find a map I liked so I made my own. Good exercise for practicing preposition of place and movement.

Give and follow directions on a map

More vocabulary practice related to different buildings in town. Students write the name of the buildings and look for them in the word search. Key provided on second page.

BUILDINGS IN TOWN - WORDSEARCH

First students guess the buildings in the map followings the clues. Then they write a dialogue asking and getting directions according to the map above. Finally they act it out.

This activity I use with my elementary students so they can practice how to provide information about  Sao Paulo (Brazil) subway map.



This act can be changed to a pair work act. as Student A/B.

AROUND TOWN

Students are stranded on a hypothetical island, and must describe it in detail and send a message in a bottle to prospective rescuers. Scaffold by giving students an island template and having them draw their island, then write a description based on the drawing.

I have reused one of my already uploaded worksheets as a test for my 15-years-old students. I have proposed them two different writing tasks related to the map above. They must be also used as a speaking task, indeed these tasks were two of their speaking tests on the first and second term.
