Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>

This test includes reading comprehension (3 different tasks), grammar (there to be, prepositions of place), vocabulary (furniture and fittings) and written practice (describing a room) all around the topic "house".

THE GRIFFINS' HOUSE - a 4page test

Students pay attention to the buildings in the map given and describe the town. It can be also used as a speaking activity by asking the name of a building by giving clues. I've planned it as the final activity after introducing the buildings in the previous uploaded worksheets:

DESCRIBE YOUR TOWN

Multi-purpose activity: vocabulary related to the towns and buildings, prepositions of place, and oral or written descriptions of places. It can also be used to plan a dialogue to ask and give directions or to ask students what actions people can do in each shop or building.

Halloween prepositions of place

A fairly basic practice of the prepositions of place and the present continuous tense.  I start this off by looking at the picture and giving them some speaking practice with a TRUE or FALSE. e.g. the horse is in the pond/ the father and son are playing cricket... 

Picnic in the Countryside.

A funny way of learning prepositions of place and buildings in cities. Once it's completed, the map can be used for a role play activity for speaking purposes.
