Halloween night - Present Continuous

Describe pictures and answer questions. It can be used for grammar, speaking and writing skills. It can be done as a lead in activity where students find similarities and differences comparing pictures. 

This worksheet is compatible with most writing tasks that involve narrating or describing a sequence. The following examples show how I use it.

-	We watch a movie sequence and then I ask my students to draw comic strips of key scenes and write subtitles. Then they use the subtitles to later describe to the class what happened in the movie.

-	Another way I use it, is to ask students to create their own story, describing events in a sequence. 



Don’t limit yourself to the above suggestions. Feel free to come up with your own ideas. The idea behind the worksheet is that when students see a worksheet, already well layered out, they feel encouraged to do the writing task. 



The Story Sequence

Teacher divides the students into a's and b's and gives each a photo accordingly. Students then work in pairs and describe the photo, students must not show the photo to their partners. The worksheet contains some useful words and a tip to help students describe the photo.

Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>
