Answer the questions worksheet

48 cards that illustrate common errors made by Greek speakers. The Greek is correctly translated into English at the bottom on the card. Cover the English with your thumb and see if the student can correctly translate the Greek into English. 



The errors occur because students literally translate from one language into the other. Gringlish supreme!

This worksheet was made for intermediate ad upper-intermediate students. It can be used as an extra activity. The worksheet contains three exercises, key is provided.

Learning and understanding English

This is particularly useful for teaching in Asia. Students usually cut off the end sounds for words, so this helps them to focus on the importance of the final consonants. They can then practice building from back to front for pronunciation and can follow up with a listening/speaking task. Closed pairs.

A short exercise to look at different vocabulary, some of them are Spanish cognates and false cognates. There is a practice page as well. The quiz can be done in teams. The answers are on the back. 

What does it mean 1

A poster that illustrates many of the ways to call someone crazy. There are an endless number of idioms and expressions for this word. Students enjoy learning fun vocabulary. Poster can be printed and hung in the classroom.

It's a poem I've written for the kids. The students are going to to sing it as a rap song during the talent show. I would like them to emphasize the basic esl learning process with the song. They liked it a lot. It is suitable for every level and you can use it for different purposes in the classroom. Enjoy it!

Pre-intermediate levels for teachers who are fed up with their students say"very" all the time. A nice little dice game for them to practice the different ways of saying it and a few, short explanations of the vocabulary and usage. Extra examples can be added every class until they are comfortable with the alternatives.
