This is an activity to present some of the WH Questions in a simple recognizable way. You can use them as flashcards, show them and make your students create a sentence with that question word

WH Questions

A warm up activity to use at the beginning of a class. Students choose from the list of 5 "wh" questions and fill in the blanks. They can then ask their classmates some of the questions. 

A text about music ("music is my passion") - students are asked to complete a gap exercise and then answer a few questions related to the text. It's for Pre-intermediate (A2)Intermediate (B1)

A reading worksheet related to the topic Home. It checks reading comprehension skills. 



Students just read very short texts and answer ten questions after them.

The fourth variant of the task that helps me challenge my students to ask questions. The task is to find out some information about the person. The problem is that students are not given a question form structure. They need to read, understand and make up a nice question on their own.

Ask me a question activity part 4 (teaching students how to build a question)

In this set of cards, this ask the questions "What am I". It gives the student clues to what the object is. This can be used an paired activity or as a group activity or as a whole class activity. What am I Conversation Cards

Use the zany Cat in the Hat to practice the usage of the question words. Students initially get these all mixed up- so they need constant practice and review. There is a b&w version and a key.

An exercise where learners must choose the only suitable answer from a selection of three. There are 20 questions in total and it tests their understanding of appropriate responses

TASK:

Create pairs. One of the pair is an interviewer and the second one is a candidate for the job. The candidate has a CV and according to that CV he/she answers to the interviewer´s questions, which are given.

The interviewer can create his own questions as well.

Ask me a question activity part 3 (teaching students how to build a question)

I am totally in love with these Jimmy Fallon's hashtag episodes. Jimmy throws the topic and people post tweets describing situatuations connected with this topic. 

The thing is that students don't only watch and listen but can also read the tweets, so it is not so difficult to get the meaning.

Learners taking the C1 Advanced exam should be able to: Express ideas fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, using linking phrases (=words that connect ideas between sentences). Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well

Learners taking the C2 Proficient exam should be able to:<ul><li>Understand almost everything read or heard with ease.</li><li>Summarize information from a variety of sources into a coherent presentation.</li><li>Express themselves using precise meaning in complex scenarios.</li><li>Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations</li></ul>

Get here and you are ready to study in English at university
