Just a very simple worksheet on some common homophones. Maybe you discuss them together first, or you simply let your students have a go on them. A five-minute activity.

Homophones #1

Ss practise words which are easily confused concerning holidays and travel. First exercise is based on dictionary entries and the other  comprises a number of sentences with gaps to insert the confusing words. After that Ss can read out the sentences to their partners (a listening activity) who should come up with correct words.

Main grammar points to know: inversion, mixed conditionals, modals in the past, all passive forms, phrasal verbs (all patterns), wish/if only for regrets

Learners who can smoothly communicate in every walk of life, read long texts and write well
