The worksheet contains ten sentences with gaps in them. Students must fill in the gaps using "how much" or "how many".  The sentences are based on easy vocabulary.

The worksheet contains two pictures and some statements for each one of them. Students must read the statements and decide if they are true or false, then they must correct the false ones writing in the space below.

Describing pictures

This worksheet contains some sentences at the present simple of the verb "to be". Students must re-write them at the interrogative form. Vocabulary is basic. The worksheet includes solution.

MILITARY NATIONAL SERVICE for 18-year-olds in the UK

I selected chunks from the short texts and rephrased them using three synonyms for each. During the class, I read out the rephrased phrases, and the students searched the text to find phrases with similar meanings. I used the original text for stronger students, while for weaker students, we can use a version of the text where the chunks are highlighted for easier identification.
A discussion session will be focused on using vocabulary derived from the text.


Reading - Vocabulary Work

The worksheet contains some adjectives in context. Students must read the sentences and then write a synonym for each adjective given in the grid. Later they must write the sentences  using the synonyms from the grid.
